What does Bupa Telehealth provide?
Bupa Telehealth offers a range of telephone-based programs and services to support you on your health journey*. We can help if you're living with a chronic health condition, recovering from a hospital stay or preparing for one, or just need some support to make healthy lifestyle changes.
These programs and services include:
Bupa Health Coaching Program – Whether you're managing a specific long-term health condition (such as diabetes), or simply wanting to stay healthy, your Health Coach will provide personalised information, guidance, and support to help you reach your agreed health goals.
Pre-Admission and Recovery Support Program – If you have an upcoming hospital admission, your Health Coach can provide information to help you prepare. If you’ve recently returned home from hospital, they can offer support and guidance during your recovery.
The COACH Program® – If you've had a heart attack, stroke or other cardiovascular event, your Health Coach, together with your treating team, can help you get back on track. The COACH Program is standardised and structured, is used by health organisations internationally, and (according to The COACH Program®) has been rated the most evidence-based cardiovascular disease prevention program in the world.
Dietitian Health Coaching Service+ – If you have goals around healthy eating, your Coach can provide you with tailored nutrition advice.
Hip and Knee Support Line – If you have hip or knee osteoarthritis, or you’re having a hip or knee replacement, call the Hip and Knee Support Line on 1800 817 632 to find out what support is available.

Bupa Telehealth eligibility*
To be eligible for a Bupa Telehealth program, you must:
- be aged 18 years or older
- have any level of Bupa Health Insurance domestic hospital cover – check what you’re covered for or contact us

Members must be aged 18 years or over. Excludes Overseas Visitors Cover (OVC) and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). Pre-admission and Recovery Support Program participants must have an upcoming hospital admission or have recently returned home from hospital. The COACH® Program is designed for those who have had a heart attack, stroke or other cardiovascular event or procedure.
+ The Dietitian Health Coaching Service is only available for Bupa Health Insurance members on Gold Ultimate Health Cover, Silver Plus Prime, Simple Start – Basic Plus and OSHC Extras products. Members must serve a two-month waiting period before engaging with the program. Bupa Health Insurance policy rules, fund rules, and service eligibility criteria apply.
#While Bupa Telehealth programs are provided to eligible Bupa Health Insurance customers at no additional cost, ancillary costs such as mobile phone, internet and landline maintenance, usage and service costs will be borne by the customer.
**Program business hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm AEST/AEDT.
~ For online doctors, waiting periods, fund and policy rules apply. Yearly service limit of 3 or 6 appointments per person depending on the eligible extras product. Members will only be able to book general doctor appointments via Blua. Appointments with specialists cannot be booked via Blua. Members who are under 18 years old may need to attend the appointments with a parent or guardian. Available on all eligible extras and combined products that include Blua online doctor appointments. 100% of the appointment fees will be covered for Blua online doctor appointments. ^Telephone interpreter services provided by third party, The Hello Co. If you would like to use this service when you contact Bupa Telehealth on-demand and without notice, not all languages may be available during that phone call. Coaching calls (as part of Bupa Telehealth’s programs) cannot be completed on-demand as medically-trained interpreters may not be available. For coaching calls (as part of Bupa Telehealth’s programs), please provide at least 2 business days’ advance notice of the telephone interpretation language you require so that the interpreter service for your coaching call can be scheduled by Bupa Telehealth. This interpreter service is provided at no cost to individuals who request this service.
Bupa Health Insurance will fund eligible customers in accordance with their policy issued by Bupa Health Insurance Pty Ltd. To avoid doubt, Bupa Health Centres Pty Ltd is not involved in the design and delivery of Bupa Telehealth programs.
